The Host blir en film!
Susanna White is attached to direct the feature adaptation of “The Host,” author Stephenie Meyer’s follow-up to “The Twilight Saga.”
Nick Wechsler will produce the indie through his eponymous banner, along with Chockstone Pictures’ Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz. Given the B.O. muscle of the “Twilight” franchise, the marketability of Meyer’s name is expected to draw interest from distribs.
Andrew Niccol (”The Truman Show”) wrote the sci-fi drama, which concerns a young woman whose body is inhabited by a benevolent alien soul after an invasion of Earth. White made her directorial debut last year with the “Nanny McPhee Returns,” which grossed more than $93 million worldwide.
